price range. The reviewers note that this model is best used for walking. The
stability and speed aren’t adequate for running.

The top spot goes to the Life Fitness Sport FT6. This model sells for $1800. The
Schwinn 418 was awarded the second spot and is also a Consumer Reports Best Buy.
This model is priced at $1100. The third place treadmill reviewed for consumers
in this category is the Vision Fitness T9200. The price for the Vision Fitness
is $1300.
All treadmills in the high price range are meant for avid runners and serious
athletes. These machines are all expensive, but well made to stand up to a heavy
workout. The Landice L7 is the top rated treadmill in the Consumer Reports
review for 2005. The review stated that this treadmill is a good choice for avid
runners. The price for this model is $3000. The second rating in this category
is the Horizon Fitness Elite. This is a folding model, which got second place
because it is not quite as sturdy as the Landice. The Horizon is priced at
$1800.
The Nordic Track 7600R got the lowest rating in the report. The reviewers tested
three treadmills and reported the same problem in all. The belt tension loosens,
even after being tightened. This model, which sells for $2100, is not
recommended for consumers.
